1.) India elected to the United Nations ' Human Right Council' for a period of three years beginning January 1, 2019.
2.) The Nobel Prize for 2018has been awarded to Congolese gynaecologist Dr Denis Mukwege and Yazidi human rights activist Nadia Murad.
3.) Virat Kohli became the only Indian cricketer to score more than 1000 runs in Test cricket for the third consecutive year.
4.) Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in New Delhi on a two- day visit on 4th October.
5.) Reliance Industries' Chairman Mukesh Ambani has emerged as the richest Indian for the 11th consecutive year.
