  1.  In the 'Swachh Survekshan Awards 2022'-  Indore was adjudged as India's cleanest city for 6th time in a row; MP best-performing state.  2.  Nobel Prize in Medicine awarded to Swedish geneticist Svante Paabo this year.  3.  The Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 was awarded to scientists Alain Aspect, John F Clauser, and Anton Zeilinger. 4. The Nobel Chemistry Prize was awarded to Americans Carolyn Bertozzi and Barry Sharpless, together.  5.  Human rights advocate Ales Bialiatski from Belarus, the Russian human rights organization Memorial, and the Ukrainian human rights organization Center for Civil Liberties won the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize. 6. French author Annie Ernaux has won the 2022 Nobel Prize in literature.  7. This year’s Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences has been awarded to the former chair of the U.S. Federal Reserve, Ben S.  1.   Veteran actor Asha Parekh was honoured with the Dada Saheb Phalke award, the highest recognition in Indian cinema . 2.  R Venkataramani was appointed as the Attorney General of India for three years. 3.  Lt Gen Anil Chauhan (retd) , a former eastern Army commander and director general of military operations, was appointed India's new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). 4.  Chandigarh airport  will be renamed after  Bhagat Singh  as a tribute to the great freedom fighter on the  115th birth anniversary . 5. Giorgia Meloni was elected as the First woman PM of Italy.  6.  Saudi Arabia's King Salman bin Abdulaziz named his son and heir Prince Mohammed bin Salman as the kingdom's Prime Minister and his second son Prince Khalid as Defence Minister. 7. Wrestler Bajrang Punia becomes 1st Indian to win 4 medals at World Wrestling Championships.  8.  Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has declared Andaman and Nicobar Islands as India's first Swachh Sujal Pradesh.
