CURRENT AFFAIRS FOR THE MONTH OF JULY- 2022

 1. Yair Lapid officially became the 14th Prime Minister of Israel.

2. Ban on manufacture, import, stocking, distribution, sale and use of identified single-use plastic items have come into force across the country.

3. Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah scores 29 runs in an over of England's Stuart Broad to create the world record for maximum runs off a single over in Test cricket, beating the legendary Brian Lara's feat by one run.

4. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) barred hotels and restaurants from levying service charges automatically or by default in bills. 

5. Rohit became the first captain to record 13 successive wins in T20Is as a skipper. Rohit Sharma also became the fastest Indian player to reach the landmark of 1,000 T20I runs as a Captain.

6. Vikrant, India's first indigenous aircraft carrier, was built by Cochin Shipyard and was handed over to the Navy. The 262-meter-long aircraft carrier is the largest ever warship to be made in the country.

7. The Commonwealth Games 2022 begin in Birmingham, England. P. V. Sindhu and Manpreet Singh will be India’s flag-bearers at Birmingham. 

8. Neeraj Chopra became the first Indian javelin thrower to win a medal at the World Athletics Championship. He bagged a throw of 88.13 metres to finish second. 

9. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled India’s first passenger drone, "Varuna".

10. The winners of the 68th National Film Awards were announced in New Delhi. “Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior” won the award for Best Actor, which went to Ajay Devgn. Aparna Balamurali won the Best Actress award for her performance.
