 1. Author Geetanjali Shree's novel 'Tomb of Sand' became the first Hindi language work of fiction to be shortlisted for the International Booker Prize.

2. Rohit Sharma has become the second Indian after Virat Kohli to score 10 thousand runs in the T20 cricket.

3. Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has become the all-time highest wicket taker in the Indian Premier League. The West Indian cricketer now has 171 wickets to his name in 153 IPL matches.

4. Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk agreed to buy Twitter Inc for $44 billion cash.

5. Adani group chairman Gautam Adani has overtaken Warren Buffett as the fifth richest in the world. According to Forbes data.

6. Lieutenant General Manoj Pande has been appointed as the next chief of the Indian Army. The 29th Army chief will be the first officer from the Corps of Engineers to become the Chief of Army Staff succeeding General Manoj Mukund Naravane who has completed his tenure on April 30.

7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya, (Prime Ministers' museum) dedicated to all Prime Ministers of the country since independence at Delhi's Teen Murti Estate.

10. Agra, Uttar Pradesh has become the first city in the country to have vacuum-based sewer systems.  These vacuums would be used in public places. The system will automatically issue an alert if there is a choke or any other issue.
