CURRENT AFFAIRS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2019- CLASSES IV & V

1.)  According to report published by NITI Aayog, Kerala has topped among large states on overall health performance followed by Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra. However, in terms of incremental performance Haryana, Rajasthan and Jharkhand are the top three states who performed well in comparison to the last health index.
2.) Mohammed Shami became the second player after Chetan Sharma to take hatrick wickets in World Cup matches from India Team. He took three consecutive wickets in the match against Afghanistan.
3.) BJP MP Om Birla was the NDA nominee for the Lok Sabha Speaker's post. Mr Birla is a two-time MP from Kota, Rajasthan.
4.) Former Union Minister JP Nadda was named the BJP's Working President.
5.)  Argentina Football Player Lionel Messi is the world's highest-paid athlete according to Forbes 2019 list of world's 100 highest-paid athletes. Virat Kohli is the only Indian and the only cricketer to have a place in the list.

6.) The first Sikh museum in Central India was inaugurated in Raipur.
7.) S Jaishankar reached Bhutan for his first overseas visit as External Affairs Minister.
8.) Sunil Chhetri became the most capped Indian player on 6th June by surpassing Bhaichung Bhutia's 107 international matches.
9.) Nayib Bukele is El Salvador's new President.
10) Chris Gayle recorded the most number of sixes in World Cup history. Gayle now has 40 sixes under his belt in 27 World Cup matches.
11.)Actor Priyanka Chopra will be awarded Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award by United Nations International Children’s Fund’s (UNICEF).
12.) 12th June was observed as World Day Against Child Labour.
13.) The Jnanpith award for the year 2018 will be given to the noted English writer Amitav Ghosh.   The award is given for outstanding contribution in literature.
14.)The eighth edition of the Women's World Cup has started in France on 7th June 2019. 24 teams are competing in this world cup.
15.) Telangana celebrated the fifth anniversary of its Formation Day on 2nd June.
16.)The centre has shortlisted five cities, Delhi, Shimla, Mysore, Ahmedabad and Ranchi to hold National Programme of the International Yoga Day this year.


17.) Sonia Gandhi has been chosen the chairperson of the Congress's elected parliamentarians at the meeting of the party's parliamentary committee.
