CURRENT AFFAIRS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE 2018

1.) The Mughalsarai railway station in Uttar Pradesh has been renamed as Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction.
2.) The U.N. General Assembly elected Ecuador's Foreign Minister Maria Fernanda Espinosa Garces as its next president, making her only the fourth women to lead the 193- member world body in its 73-year history.
3.)Indian Women batsman Mithali Raj has become the first Indian to score 2000 runs in International T20Is.
4.) Virat Kohli received the Polly Umrigar award ( Best International Cricketer) in Bengaluru for his performances in 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
5.)The United States, Mexico and Canada won the right to host the 2026 World Cup in a vote by FIFA member nations.
6.) Chennai- born Dhivya Suryadevara has been named the Chief Finance Officer of the US largest automaker, General Motors, the first women to get the position in the auto industry.
7.) Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu is crowned as Femina Miss India 2018.
8.)International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June. Rajasthan created a world record bringing over a lakh of people together at yoga session to mark the international yoga day.
9.) In Maharashtra, a statewide plastic ban including carrying- bags and thermocol is imposed from 23rd June 2018.
10.) R Praggnanandhaa of Chennai made history by becoming the youngest Indian Grandmaster and the second youngest overall by earning his third GM norm during the Grenadine Open in Italy at the age of 12 years and 10 months.
