CURRENT AFFAIRS FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH 2018
1.) Navjot Kaur becomes the first Indian women to win the gold medal at Asian Wrestling Championship. She wins the gold medal at 65 Kg freestyle wrestling category held at Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
2.) Krishna Kumari Kolhi from Sindh province becomes the first- ever Hindu Dalit women Senator in Pakistan.
3.) The 90th Annual Academy Awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California. The Shape of water won a leading four awards, including Best Picture and Best Director for Guillermo del Toro. Gary Oldman wins the best actor award for Darkest Hour. Frances McDormand wins Best Actress award for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
4.) Conrad Sangma took oath as 12th Chief Minister of the state of Meghalaya.
5.) Biplab Kumar Deb took oath as the first BJP Chief Minister in Tripura.
6.) World championships Australia lifted the Sultan Azlan Shah Cup for a record 10th time after beating England 2-1 in the final.
7.) Canadian- American Mathematician Robert P Langlands has won 'Maths Nobel' Abel Prize 2018 for the Langlands program, which predicts unexpected connections between different fields.
8.) World Water Day was observed on 22nd March.
9.) PV Sindhu has been chosen as the flag bearer for the Indian contingent at the 2018 Commonwelth Games in Gold Coast.
